ABOUT ART/RESEARCH 2000 PROGRAM: JANUARY 2000 - APRIL 2002

Between January 2000 and April 2002 ICAR-Paris presented a six-part Art/Research 2000 Program.

Created to interact with ICAR's multidimensional site, Art/Research 2000 combined single-artist visual arts projects - such as exhibitions of John Coplans, Dennis Oppenheim, William De Lottie, Vito Acconci/Acconci Studio, Akira Arita, and JCJ Vanderheyden - with an ongoing series of music events and lectures on art and science. It made use of new technical media and new concepts in architecture and theory to develop its research thematic.

WORKSHOP/EXHIBITION: MAY - JULY 2002

A SPECIAL PROJECT PRESENTED BY THE PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO OF THE ÉCOLE NATIONAL SUPÉRIEURE DES BEAUX-ARTS (ENSBA).

More than just an exhibition, the project involved the actual placement of the École des Beaux-Arts' studio on the premises of ICAR-Paris for the two months from May 7 to July 14, 2002. Directed by artists Patrick Faigenbaum and Marc Pataut, the studio operates in conjunction with the seminar of Jean-François Chevrier, Professor of Art History at ENSBA.
